It's about 10 p.m. outside of Chicago, and here is what it looks like right now. Not sure how much of this is falling snow and how much is just being blown around by the gusting wind. Pretty wild out there. Yesterday, the forecasters were predicting over a foot of snow. I don't think we've hit that yet here, but we'll see by tomorrow morning. Stay safe everyone, and stay inside!

Well, the official snow total today was 22 inches. With the winds, we got drifts which buried cars completely. I ended up having to shovel about 2 feet of snow surrounding my car in order to get it moving. I didn't go anywhere, I'm not that crazy! I just wanted to dig the car out before the big freeze tonight made it much harder to shovel. So, I just backed out of my parking space and cleared off the 8-10 inches that were under the car and the 8-10 inches that were on top of the car. Then I pulled back in and went inside for some hot tea and soup!
